Fall Fest is a wonderful event that I get to share with other Demonstators; one of the biggest perks of being a Stampin' Up Demonstrator. Hi Everyone,

I went to the Stampin' Up! regionals this weekend that were held in Hartford, CT. It was just amazing .... definitely one of the many perks of being a Stampin' Up! demonstrator. The all day event was on Saturday, March 19, 2011. I arrived in Hartford on Friday night. I went with my friend, Donna, another demonstrator, who drove us. We made it more of a mini vacation. We stayed both Friday and Saturday nights. The Regional convention was so much fun and I learned so much, as well as having a great time with my "sister" demonstrators. We made some new friends and saw some of our "Inkredible" group there as well. There is nothing better than stampin and learning with other women whose love of stamping and creating equals my love of this fabulous craft. We learned a lot from the presenters and got to stamp some great projects. There were some unbelievable imaginative swaps and samples at this convention. I can wait to share what I learned with you.

At my upline meeting in Jan. we had a Shoebox Swap. We all get together and bring in projects (cards, scrapbook pages, 3D gift ideas) and then we actually get to make everyone else's project. This is a lot of fun and gives us new ideas that we can bring to our own customers. The following are two of my projects (they did one of my projects in the morning and the other one in the afternoon) ...

This first card is called a never ending card. This is a great technique and the card itself is only 2 - 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 pieces of cardstock. When the pieces are put together a certain way you can keep opening it up to see the 4 different views. Clear as mud... it is better if you see this card in person. If you would like to learn how to make a card like this one (this one is a Valentine but could just as easily be an Anniversary or birthday Card) just let me know!

My second project was this really pretty tissue box using our new Springtime Vintage Designer series paper and the new "Baby Blossoms" set as well as our new vintage flower adornments. Here are the front, side and top views.

A couple of male oriented cards and one pretty card... The owl is punched out using the new owl punch; he is just so cute. The Trees are from Trendy Trees; the tree I used for this card is definitely my favorite of the set. The "Morning Cup" stamp set is one of my two favorite sets in our new catalog. My other favorite is the "Elements of Style" set that was in the summer mini and made it into the 2010 - 2011 Idea Book & Catalog.

Here are the 3 cards we did for our July stamp club meeting... They all use stamps from the "Nature's Nest" stamp set. Two of the cards feature the emboss resist technique with twist (white gel pen). The last one is my version of a Karen Barber's Card. Thank you for looking!

The two cards pictured, I cased from an example from Karen Barber. I just love her technique (and couldn't wait to try out this technique using the same stamp set, Nature's Nest because I think the turtle is just adorable!). The technique is basically embossed resist stepped up with a white gel pen. The first one is actually a plain version with no embossing and colored with blender pens... It looks nice, but the second one is really stepped up with this technique. I did change the colors on my cards. I went with the new yellow, daffodil delight, pacific point (I'm not sure what color blue she used) and used all the new neutrals, including Choc chip, which Karen used), instead of close to cocoa and creamy caramel. Karen is definitely an expert in coloring and although I thought I did a good job, it's still no where near her talent. Thanks for looking!

Having a party? Wouldn't this invitation just set the scene? This is such a fun invitation to make using the "July Fourth" set from Stampin' UP!'s summer mini catalog. I stamped most of the cute fireworks and stars in either Real Red or Night of Navy ink then added some shimmer by inking one of the stamps with our Platinum Shimmer Paint and then stamping. I punched out the red star using the extra large star punch and then attaching it using a dimensional. Punch out the fourth of July saying using the Curly label. Adding a little red ribbon is just the right finishing touch to this invitation.

Here are the two cards that we did at our May stamp club meeting...

This card was made with the new stamp set tropical punch. It is also made using the Square lattice textured Impressions Embossing folder and the Island Oasis DSP. I stamped the palm leaf and then ran it throught the big shot using the embossing folder. It's too hard to see in the picture but it has a great texture!

This card is an Easel fold card using the new Elements of style stamp set as well as the Vanilla Shimmer smooch Spritz found in the Summer mini catalog. I'm just loving the new smooch spritz sprays... they are a great way to add shine and sparkle to a card and with the new "color catcher" they couldn't be easier to use.

Here are the cards that we made at the April Stamp club meeting...

These two cards were made from the Fox & Friends stamp set in the occasions mini catalog... I hope this set makes it into the new Idea book & catalog coming out in July!! These animals are so cute and versatile. The paper on the first one is from our main catalog and is called Tall Tales. The branch on the monkey card was punched using the extra large two-step bird punch that is still available for purchase even though the Occasions mini catalog is no longer available.

This card is made with the Awash with Flowers set that was only available as an April preview but will be available in the next Catalog. I also used the Gold Glow smooch Spritz that is available in the current summer Mini catalog. It is just one of the wonderful new products in the mini... take a look at the new mini catalog now online.

My first Digital Scrapbook 2-page spread!

Here it is my first Digital Scrapbook page... please don't be too harsh ... I will get better! The thing is, the program Stampin UP's "My Digital Studio" is really wonderful and got me to do more scrapbooking than I ever would without it. I've actually got quite a few projects in the works. It is very easy to use and I have never scrapbooked digitally before!!! You can add your pictures to pages that have already been done for you, but of course, for me that would be too easy, so even though I used kind of a template, I changed everything around and did my own thing. I'm really enjoying learning all the in's and out's of this exceptionally well thought out program... way to go, Stampin UP!

I welcome any comments or tips for making these pages look better, so post and let me know what you think. And thanks for looking!

Thumping and Direct to paper techniques

I just love techniques! This card using both the thumping technique and the direct to paper technique. I first embossed this card by using the Finial press embossing folder and then rubbed 3 ink pads over the embossed part of the card... I used crushed curry, more mustard, and dusty durango. It is such a simple card to make but I think it makes quite an impressive looking card.

I really enjoyed using the "thumping" technique on this card that uses the tree from the "Lovely as a Tree" Stamp set. I never really like this particular tree from the set because coloring it never seemed to come out right no matter what I used to color it. This time I used the Crushed curry marker first on the leaves and then "thumped" using the dusty durango and more mustard markers. I colored the bottom of the tree with close to cocoa. Thanks for looking!

Here are the two cards that we made at the Stamp Club meeting on Friday night. I have also included a picture of the raffle, a ornament that was made using the ornament punch and the pretties kit. The First card is a shadow box card using the Serene Snowflakes stamp set, and the Circle Scissors plus circle cutter as well as some silver embossing. The second Card was made with the Thoughts and prayers stamp set, the Finial press textured impressions embossing folder, and the technique used was "thumping".

Each class will take approximately three hours to complete.

You will make 12 Christmas/Winter Cards, three each of 4 designs. (4 different designs than the October Stamp-a-Stack class). To make these cards we will use sets & accessories from the Holiday Mini Catalog and sets & accessories from the Idea Book & Catalog 2009-2010. This class is GREAT for both beginner and experienced stampers. All the supplies are included and will be cut for easy assembly.

We made these two cards are our monthly meeting... The first one was a card that Karen Barber made for our Fall Fest.

The second card had two version that they could pick from ... one had plain petals that were daubered on the outsite of each petal. The other card using the new Champagne mist shimmer paint out of our Holiday Mini catalog.

Sept Card Class

Our Sept Card class will be held on September 16 at 10:00 am and 7:00 PM. Please RSVP as soon as possible by either e-mailing me or leaving a message at 973-503-1925 telling me that you will be attending either the morning or evening class. Space is very limited and seats will be filled on a first come, first serve basis, so when you leave a message, I will call you back only if there is a problem, so if you don't hear from me consider your spot saved. Come and make 4 cards to be used for Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Fall (including Fall birthdays. You will learn how to make a recessed frame in the halloween card below, as well as embossing and other techniques. I know it is kind of hard to see the recessed frame in the picture below but it is just so impressive in person. It does fit in one of our medium whisper white envelopes, although I don't know if I would recommend mailing it unless you use more packaging. We will make a special brad using the Build-a-Brad accessory which you can see on page 179 of our Idea Book & Catalog 2009. We will be making these 4 cards.

I'm just having so much fun doing Tri-Shutter Cards. Such and easy technique that makes an impressive looking card. Don't you think? Does have quite a bit of cutting though so it can be a little time consuming. I made 2 oriental looking cards with the Dream Gardens stamp set; the second one used a little different cut, resulting in a larger card but allowed more room for the main design.

Recent Swap card sample...

The card was made using the new In colors (Bermuda Bay and Melon Mambo) and a new 3rd Level Hostess set "The more the merrier". It also has melon mambo polka dot ribbon (This new ribbon is reversable - the other side is plain) and the new scalloped oval punch as well as the Eyelet punch. The card itself has been run through the big shot with one of our exclusive texture plates. The birds with the hearts were colored in using our new In Color markers.

Our stamp club did 3 cards on Wednesday. Two of them, I have already posted below... the beach card and the flower in vase card. We did one other card that night. I love doing different shaped cards and cards using the big shot and this card was done almost exclusively with the Big shot. It does fit in a regular size card envelope, too! It uses our exclusive Stampin Up dies. Two 2 bigz dies... the Scallop Circle and the Flower:Daisies #2, and Little leaves sizzlit die.

Hi Everyone,

The new Catalog is right around the corner now! But unfortuately, we have to say Good-Bye to some of our Stamp Sets and Accessories to create room in the new catalog for some new and exciting products. The name has changed from "Retired List" to "Last Chance List" but the lists contain the same information and are set up the same way as last year. These are the stamp sets and accessories that will no longer be available for purchase after June 30, 2009. Keep in mind that the accessies do sell out quickly, so if there an accessory that you want, please call me right away and I can tell you whether or not it is on the list. Stationery Set

I recently went to an event run by my upline where we made the cutest Stationery Set. I modified it a bit and then offered it as a class to my customers. One of my customers let me take pictures of her finished stationery set, which I would like to share with all of you. I love that she added her own creative touches to it... watching others develope there own creativity is just so much fun and so rewarding. This stationery set has pockets to hold cards with envelopes, small 3x3 gift cards, and tags. It also has a Birthday calendar in the middle of it, to record all of your friend's and family's birthdays, anniversaries and other events. I didn't take a picture of the top of the box, but it includes a spot for a pen which has a piece of co-ordinating paper inside it. Enjoy the pics!

If anyone is interested in making a similar set for yourself or as a gift, just let me know! As with most projects, you can use practically any Stampin UP stamp set or Designer Series paper and coordinating card stock to make this set. And this item makes such a great gift for a friend or a teacher.

It's not too late to come to the card class today, May 11, 2009, just give me a call; there are still a few spots left. I have filled this class with lots of great products and techniques.... embossing, crystal effects, on board chipboard, brads, ribbon, a floating flower card using window sheets, hodgepodge hardware,in both styled silver and styled vanilla, punches, and big shot texture plates and dies. May Card Class - Morning only!

The monthly card class has been moved to Monday morning, May 11, 2009. It is not too late to sign up this month. We will be making 4 cards. Fee: $20.00, $10.00 if you have had a workshop/party with me in the past. Call me ASAP if you are interested.

If Wednesday evening, May 13, 2009, is better for you consider joining my stamp club. We will be making 2 cards (for free!). This is a very loosely run club, you do not have to commit to 1 meeting a month, just come whenever you can; I'm sure you will enjoy learning some new stamping techniques while socializing with this great bunch of women. Need an escape from the day to day routine? It's a great ladies night out! Call me for more information at 973-503-1925.

The stamp club meeting was moved to the 2nd Wednesday evening this month to accommodate its members schedules. However, I'm thinking of making this a permanent change from the 2nd Wednesday of the month to the 2nd Monday of the month with both a morning and evening class. What do you think??? Tomorrow, April 1, 2009, will be the first day to order from the new Occasions Mini Catalog! There are a lot of new and exciting products in this mini. Gatefold and Tri-fold cards

I recently did a workshop where we did two cards with extra special folds that I wanted to share with you here. One is a Gatefold cards with actually just means that the card is folded so that the ends meet in the middle of the card. You take a half sheet of cs (5 1/2 across and 8 1/2" long), scored at 2 1/8" and 6 3/8".

The other card is a Tri-fold pocket card, based on a card by Sharmill. This is a variation of the Tri-fold card where the last fold is glued at the bottom and side to form a pocket for in this case a tag. You start with a piece of cardstock 12" x 5 1/2" and then score it at 4" and 8" so that you have 3 equal sections. Then you cut it from the top right corner to about an 1 1/2" from the bottom left hand corner and fold and decorate.

Hello Everyone,

I am just enjoying the new "Love You Much Bundle" so much that I though I would post pictures of a project that I recently made using the bundle. It is a Mini Pizza Box with Valentines project that was posted to my Demonstrator site by a fellow demonstrator, Desiree Spenst. I think it is just the cutest! The first pictures is the outside of the box, then the box opened, then the cards, then the envelopes. Sorry that the lined envelope is a bit blurry but I wanted you to see that they were all lined. The cards are 3 x 3 size. If you would like to make this project, too, just give me a call or e-mail me at pauline@comestampwithpauline.com.

Elegant but simple Christmas card

This card is so simple to make. First you use the coluzzle and the oval template and cut out a oval the size that you want. I also cut it out of a 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 size piece of card stock vellumn. Then I laid the vellumn over the Shimmery white card stock and sponged inside using sahara sand on the bottom and brocade blue on top. Then without removing the template, I stamped the trees from the "Lovely as a tree" Stampin' up! stamp set and the saying from the "Hugs and Wishes" set in Night of Navy ink. Tied a ribbon on the left and then mounted it onto a Night of Navy card. The ideas for this card was cased from several different cards on Splitcoast.
